Because Pink Rocks.
Dear Mr President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?
Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind.
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.
What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh
How do you sleep at night?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Dear Mr. President,
You'd never take a walk with me.
Would you?
~ Dear Mr President - Pink
~*~
An open letter to the American President.

We went to Tan Tock Seng today to visit Cikgu Himpon who got admitted two days back. I got him a balloon! *beams* This man was my Primary six malay teacher ok. Waaayyy back then. Haha. Before I worried that I got him something too kiddish, Cikgu Wiyah smsed and told me she thought about giving him exactly that yesterday. Haha. So ok lah. :D
After that Farhan and I went to Square 2! It's the new 'wing' of the old Novena sopping senter. And it's all Korean. Ahha. I went into one of the mini marts and the aunties there were! speaking! in! Korean!
Kam sa mida! (yes. that's about all i know. haha.)
The Indon food at Fork and Spoon rocked. :D I recommend the Ayam Panggang. (ask for BBQ sauce instead of the Black Pepper. :p) And the acar is very nice also. *slurps*
After that we found this quaint little bakery and sat on the patio for some tea and chit chatting. I like the service horh. Hahaha.
I had Caramel and Strawberry tea and Farhan had the Blueberry and Raspberry. :D
Even the wrappers are pretty!! They gave us personal teapots! So cute!
Pouring tea the Korean way. Hurhur. After that we just had a heartfelt chat. :) That was fun. Hehe.
Ahha. Good night. I feel sleepy. Weurd.

I am a proud 1/4 Banjarese!
Hehe.
Ok. So some Banjarese people stayed over at Tok Abah's house. And I like the language! Haha. Sure it's funny to listen to, a little bit like Boyan (but Boyan is sure funnier. *giggles*) but, it's kinda cool.
I told my grandfather that I wanted to learn the language (since the 'Banjar' people in Singapore have no idea it actually exists, much less speak it. *ahem ahem*) because it's cool! Hahaha.
I only learned a few phrases like :
"
Ayohak! Bulikan.. " Which means er. "Let's go home." Haha.. and...
"
Ayohak! Tulaken.. " Which means "Let's go." I think.
And "
Esok begawik! " Which means, "There's work tmr." Hahaha..
I suck. I know. I haven't done justice to it.
I asked my grandfather if there's such a thing as a Banjarese dictionary. He says we might find one at Banjar Masin (where he's going in June.) Banjar Masin is at Indonesia. Ahha.
Oh. Speaking of my grandfazher....... Jeng jeng...
He filmed part 2 of 2x5 Dol a few days ago!! I'm so jealousssss!! Ok. I finally remembered his name! Haizad er Something! Hahahaha. Yes, the actor's name is Haizad and my grandfather can't remember his name so he couldn't tell me just now.
Hur hur. My grandfather very on ok.
Ok. I should sleep. Good night world.
Esok begawik! Lol. Ok. Not really. :p

Mr Bean is talented.
I wanna say that I'm feeling euphoric because I got to watch episode 19 already.
However.
Ack. I hate feeling guilty for something I KNOW I'm not supposed to feel guilty about. It's just irritating and it occupies my brain and makes me feel miserable. And I can't get rid of it no matter how much I try.
Aargh. And I thought it'd be different, but then I guess people will still be people no matter what age they're at.
All's fair in... sigh. I don't know what. Let me try to regain some lost happiness yah?
Maybe later when the whole family will sit around the tv for Heroes Ep 19. :)
Or perhaps when the boy asks me out. Heh.
I have GOT to get over this guilt fest lah. Wound! Wound! Go away!!!

hmm.
I saw this video on youtube a few minutes ago. It was an Islamic video, with a Sheik and everything, warning Muslims on the effects of erm, doing sinful activities. Yes, Muslims. Underlined. Not all you... other people. What made me upset was that the people (and when I say people, I mean IGNORANT people) who don't respect religion in GENERAL, are the ones who are the first to condemn it. They type and they type as if they know so much about my religion, Islam. Granted, I'm not trying to say that I'm extremely proficient at it either, it's just that I love Islam so, and what they say not only makes me angry, it makes me very very sad. I may be wrong, but I don't think youtube is a good platform for us to showcase Islam. Yes, it may be good for Muslims education-wise (I know I've learnt a lot from some videos), but the REAL end product is the verbal wars going on in the comment section. Non-Muslims are condemning Muslims, and Muslims are condemning them right back. Islam is not about fighting. It's not about forcing our views on other people. Of course you may say that, "Hey, we're not forcing these people to watch our videos. They had a choice and they continued to watch the video, so it's not our fault they don't like what we're saying." But think about it. Ultimately, someone's going to say something bad about Islam and type it out in the comments, with the ultimate reason of getting you (the one who post the video) riled up and you, a Muslim feels insulted and obviously stands up for Islam. Then what happens? I absolutely hate it when a self-proclaimed Muslim uses vulgarity of all things to counter the hateful things someone else says. Go to ANY Islamic video and read the comments and you'll know what I mean. It's just maddening to see the prejudice spreading like a disease right before my eyes. We're supposed to respect everybody, regardless of their religion. Videos on youtube not only start verbal wars, they make sure the war never ends. Some people will NEVER accept Islam and there's no sense in even explaining anything to them. I've seen comments where some Muslims urge these people to pick up both the Bible and the Quran and compare the two. These comments are always laughed or jeered at. So what's the point I ask you? Why are some Muslims wasting time trying to defend our religion from people like that? I'd rather spend time educating our own Muslims (myself included. :)) One of the things that upset me the most is when they insult our Prophet. I just.... Sigh. We don't insult Jesus Christ. In fact, we believe in him. Why is it so difficult for these people to respect our Prophet? What has he done to them? Maybe God will show them the light one day. Hopefully. And..... I'll try not to read the comments the next time I watch an educational Muslim video. They either make me want to scream and type a nasty message back (not that I've ever done it before, I'm too lazy. heh.) or they make me very sad that they feel that way about Islam. Maybe, I should just send messages to the creators of these videos to.. Disable the comments section. Yeah, maybe I should do just that. It might make life just that little bit better. ~*~ To Hudeeee : If you're reading this after school. I hope SYF went well! *hugs* You probably rocked lah, so there. Hehe. But if you're reading this before school, GOOD LUCK!! ~*~ Ok. Enough ranting about nasty people (my sister not included). Good night.

Of Mukhsins and Zombie Chews
I HAD FUN TODAY!!!! Haha. Mum, Huda, Farhan and I went to watch Mukhsin! AGAIN! *beams like the sun* Hehe.. Mum admitted that she cried this time. Heee heee... Watching it at Cinema Europa rocked too! The seats were damn luxurious lah. And Huda was sniffling beside me, whether from tears or just sinus I'll never know (and she'll never admit it. hur hur.) After that we went to eat at Banquet, where I had a Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bucket! But because I was camera-less, no pictures, sorry. Basically it looked like a Japanese uh pail. Hahahahaha. Ok sorry. I don't know how to describe it. I shall draw it for you. :D Hahaha.. How my drawing skills? LOL. Then mum bought like a truckload of Zombie Chews for the boys (who I didn't invite to watch Mukhsin bahaha-I'm-so-evil) at home. (Aiz cried. Heh. Ok I felt bad.. for like, a few minutes. :D) Ok lah. I need to study. :) ~*~ It's all ok now. Motivation has arrived. *smiles* Thank you .YKILY . ~*~The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you; Not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere; They're in each other all along. We don't always find the one we carry inside us; But love is kind. It gives us second chances. I found mine. I hope Mukhsin found his. ~OrkedSuch a good boy. ~Mum HAHAHA. Ok good night. ;)

Gobble gobble
Ahha. I don't have time to draw-draw in photoshop, so I'll put up the answers (for the previous post) in another-nother post. Ahha. My Sociology lectures by the London lecturers rocked! Wheee.. Now THAT'S the kind of lecture I wouldn't mind paying big bucks for. When I attended my first ever Overseas lecture, THAT was the type of lecture I was expecting. But no. Crapped in my pants during Econs because of Amos Whatshisname, dozed off TWICE for Mike Buckle's lecture.. etc etc etc. I mean, if these lecturers earn $3000 PER HOUR, please lah horh. I expect you to grab my attention and provide quality lectures!! Haha.. But anyway, back to the point of this post. I just wanted to gush about my two Soci London lecturers, Rosy Gosling and Steve Taylor (who incidentally is a huge Chelsea fan. hurhur.)Steve : We did a study and found that 50% of all text messages in the UK are flirtatious in nature. *pauses* Hmm. I've got my phone *waves his handphone in the air* for twelve years now.. And I've yet to receive one. *glum face* The class laughs. Then he goes up to the board and writes down his handphone number. Steve : So..... As a kind of experiment, this is my Singapore handphone number. And, I'd kinda like you guys to text me and tell me what you think about the lecture etc.. Or if there is anything you're not clear about in my lecture. I also accept flirtatious messages. *the class obviously laughs again at this point* *insert laughter* *inserts again in case you didn't get it* Steve : I did this last year too, and it was a kind of a disappointment; I only received two text messages. One text message said : "Can we say that Durkheim was a positivist?" which was a valid question to ask of course. But the second one read : "Chelsea sucks." Hehehe. I thoroughly enjoyed both his and Rosy's lectures. And of course, I didn't go for Jackie's lecture after that. She's the female Amos. grr. Ended up at IMM with mummy buying snacks and whatnots. :D Thanks mum! Ok. I'm sleepy, which is a first, since it's only One a.m. -_- Good night all.

JENIUS!
Haha. Today was the first time in our lives that Hafiz, Huda, Dad and I, sat around the dining table and DEBATED about a PRIMARY FIVE math question. The question goes like this. Now before all of YOUUU grab our throats and shake us around (and ask us why we're so stoopid), here's the stickler to the question: How do you show dividing something by HALF? It is not, I repeat NOT the same as dividing something by TWO ok. Haha.. Think HARD ppl. Look at the difference. Dividing HALF by TWO = One-Quarter. Dividing HALF by HALF = One. How do you explain the rule that when you divide something by a fraction, you have to INVERT the fraction and change the division sign to a multiplication sign? Yeah sure, you can tell me, ANYTHING divided by ANYTHING is still equal to one. Fine fine. But how do you explain : Using a model? (Assuming you've NEVER heard of the Inversion Rule?) Hur hur. We took almost TWO hours to come up with an explanation that everyone agreed with. Heh. So? So? Any thoughts? Haha.. ~*~ Answers in the next post. :) Have been busy the past few days; I have classes everyday of this week :S Tomorrow will be the 10am-5pm, then 7pm-10pm class. *blanches at the thought* Ok good night ye ppl. :D

Things Found In Tok Abah's Gerobok.
We ALL know what's going to happen when I have my own kids. So I raided Tok Abah's cupboards today. And... *rubs hands gleefully* I found more nasty, cute, wacky, and plain weird photos of ALL my cousins. (ok, and myself of course.) Haha.. Now I figure I have the whole set.... And that's probably enough to make : Ahha.. Stay tuned for that. :D Last picture of the day: She says I posed my diapered butt off everytime someone said 'Camera!' to me. -_- That was my 'Penantin-Penantin' pose. Ok lah. Movie Review : Mukhsin
Click to play!SPOILER ALERT! DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU! Ahha.. Ok. Things I did during this movie : 1) Laugh when Orked got a 'caning' from her mother. (which consisted of her screaming when the cane beat the bed.) 2) Sigh when Mukhsin tied a couple of old cloths and t-shirts to his bicycle so that Orked could sit on it more comfortably. What a sweet little boy. 3) Laugh some more when they played 'Kahwin-kahwin' and Orked had to be the groom. 4) Smile everytime Mukhsin did his wave with the hand thing. Ahha.. Yeah yeah so I saw the trailers and a few clips before the movie. I KNEW it was Mukhsin in the car when we first saw him. 5) Cry when Mukhsin was going off and asked Orked if she had read what he wrote on the kite tail. 6) Squealed when Adult Orked and Jason were on the screen! Woo hoo! 7) Ok, laugh in general because everyone in the movie except Mukhsin is whacked. Hahaha... END OF SPOILER. *grins* ~*~ Watch it because : 1) It's a Yasmin Ahmad film. 2) It's a beautiful 'first love' love story. 3) Orked's whole family is as whacked as they were in Gubra. 4) It brings back the 'ole kampung days. Mum was reminiscing in the next seat lah. Haha.. Nice kampung-kampung aura about it. 5) It's very sweet. 6) Oh yeah. And it won two awards in the Berlinale Film Festival. :) Japanese people love it and we the Orang Melayu are not watching it? For shame! Haha.. 7) I kinda blame that on the publicity in Singapore. *it sucks! it totally sucks!!* -_- Luckily Maya blogged about it. I'd have been depressed if I hadn't caught it. Thanks Maya! *beams* And don't worry Maya, I never got the 'first love' thingy either. :) What you said about the 'first love' being qualitatively inferior to subsequent ones I can definitely relate to. I like to think that Farhan is my 'first love', even though chronologically, like you said, there were others. Haha, ok, after that admittedly mushy statement, I have no idea what to type next. Um. *smiles* Watch Mukhsin!! *waves a Mukhsin flag*

Rules from Men for Women
1) Men are not mind readers. 1) Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of tides. Let it be. 1) Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way. 1) Crying is blackmail.
1) Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one : Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work!JUST SAY IT!
1) Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question. *haha.. riiite.* 1) Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for. *i'm lucky.. :D yes I am.* 1) A headache that lasts for 17 months IS a problem . See a doctor. 1) Anything we said six months ago is not allowed in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after seven days. *ahem ahem*
1) If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one way makes you angry or sad, we meant the other one. 1) You can either tell us to do something Or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself. 1) Whenever possible, please say what you have to say during commercial. 1) Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1) ALL men see in 16 colors, kinda like Windows default settings. Peach for example, is a FRUIT, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is. 1) If we ask what's wrong and you say, 'nothing', we will act like nothing is wrong. We know you're lying, but it is not just worth the hassle. 1) If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear. *;) did it ever occur to you that it's just your voice I wanted to hear?* 1) When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really .
1) You have enough clothes. 1) You have too many shoes. *nooooo!! I need more shoes!!!* 1) Did you know that men don't really mind sleeping on the couch? It's like camping.
~*~ *laughs* I have nothing to say to this. :) Some are definitely true for some couples nyahahaha.. I think I got the best boypren in the world anyway, so mostly, all the above doesn't really apply. Hahahaha.. Yaay. I saw Mr Bean just now. And my goodness...I LOVED IT!! I wanna watch it again. Just to hear him say "GRACIAS" one more time. Hee hee...Bean... Sabine... Oui... Non... Oui? Sabine? BEAN! Non..... Ok. I should.. what's that activity again? Oh yes. Sleep. Sleep is good for you. *grins* Good night world. Especially that special someone out there. :)

I KNEW it!
I think like BOTH a male and female. Hahahaaa.... And here I was thinking I'm both left and right brained. And no, I didn't pick out that score from the sky. I took the BBC - Science & Nature - Sex ID test . *hehe.. somewhat credible :P* The test is in 6 parts, and it actually tests your mental capabilities.. For example : Haha.. There's a special trick to identify the correct angle of course. I discovered it half-way. Hahaha.. This was my result for this test : This task tested your ability to make spatial judgments. You correctly matched 14 line(s) out of 20. On average, men generally outperform women at this task, although it is important to note that many women score extremely well. Males may generally score higher because they tend to pay more attention to space or the geometry of the world around them. Differences such as this may reflect differences in the brain. One theory suggests that exposure to higher levels of testosterone before birth gives men an added advantage because the hormone may stimulate the development of the right hemisphere of the brain. This is the side that contributes most to spatial awareness. There's six parts to the test, and you can save anytime you want and come back to finish it at another time. After you've done the whole test, they give you a breakdown-per-part interpretation for the test. Ahha, I'll put up my results for the other parts and sub-parts when I get home later. :) I have a psychology lecture at 1.30. :D *waves*
