Movie review : Krrish

Haha.. I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but I actually sat through this movie :

The most un-nonsensical poster of Krrish I could find.

Even though I swore to myself I'd never ever watch this 'masked hero' movie EVER, I caught sight of the blurb on the cover while searching for dvds last night:

Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born with magical powers - a legacy from his father, Rohit Mehra. Like an eagle, he soars across rivers and mountain tops..

Grave as a lion he conquers rugged rocks without fear.
Priya (Priyanka Chopra) comes to his life and becomes his world. When she beckons him to Singapore, *at this point, Hana perks up* he follows.. little realizing it is destiny that has summoned him.

Having sheltered him from the world, his grandmother reluctantly gives in to him, and lets him follow his heart.

In Singapore, Dr Siddhart Arya (Naseerudin Shah) *who also played Captain Nemo in LXG.. Wah, he's been reduced to this?!?.*, the megalomaniac scientist is on the verge of changing the future forever..

Only one man Stands between Dr Arya and his destructive dreams. Only one man has the power to block his ruthless ambitions. Only one man. Krishna must become, Krrish.

HAHAHAHA. Ok. If you think that was nonsensical, wait till you actually watch the movie.

I have so many complaints to make about this movie I don't even know where to start. Haha.. I think I'll just list the problems I have about the movie in random order lah horh.

1) The Movie Posters

Was there a cliff in Singapore I didn't know about? Hmm
? I'd like to say Mount Faber, but I've been up there, and well, that doesn't look like the view at all.

Here Krrish slides down the Fountain at Suntec. -_- This wasn't even shown in the movie itself. Hahahaha.. Would've been something. *laughs*

Tongkang Jumping

Like. HUH??????

He JUMPED from tongkang to tongkang laaaaaaaaaaaa... WHAT THE!!!! No other glam thing to jump on is it????

Right. *raises a finger* Um... Right.

*holds head in hands* seriously you guys... -_-

Evil Scientist's Lair is at Sentosa

I kid you not!! Dr Arya and his team of baddies take a helicopter ride to somewhere they call 'The Island'. Guess what people, Dr Arya keeps NINJAS! At SENTOSA!! They actually showed Palawan Beach! Complete with ninja watch-towers!!

The Ninjas Are Only Armed With Parangs

'Cause throwing stars were out of stock.

Like, poor thing like that. The boss's technology so complete until he can build a computer that shows the future, but can only afford to give his ninjas parangs. Pokok Kelapa parangs ok, not the ones that open durians. Don't play play.

Wait, Hana. He made a computer that shows the future????

Yeah. He built it at Esplanade. (which, for movie convieniences, was called 'Techtronics' and housed Men In Black who were all Europeans.)

*faints*

Krrish chased a HELICOPTER from CHINATOWN to SENTOSA

Here's the quick runthrough.

From Chinatown, he heads toward the Central Business District, stopping to land at the clock tower, jumps against and over buildings like Spiderman, jumps from tongkang to tongkang at Singapore River, runs along Amoy St (I think), past a school bus carrying Park View Primary students, reaches PSA, jumps over containers, and finally dives into the water and swims like a dolphin to Sentosa.

And if you ask me why he just doesn't use the Sentosa bridge, it's because he wanted to swim like a dolphin to Sentosa.

...

A Superhero In Singapore

All I'm thinking is, of ALL the countries in the world..... they chose Singapore. -__- The most nonsensical place to have a superhero. OK? WRONG PLACE.

Give us Hello Kitties,
Give us American Idol..

However, we can NEVER accept Masked Men. EVER.

~*~

Ok, I'm feeling sleepy. Will add more to this weird post tmr, if i'm in the mood. Heh.

Good night.

It's almost April..

I had a sort of nightmare last night. I dreamt about my first form teacher from Secondary school.

People who know about her would know why I say it's a 'sort' of nightmare and not a full-fledged one.

My form teacher passed on at the end of April when I was in Sec 2. It was a mysterious death, and I don't think I truly ever got over it. Oh, sure there were the nightmares for months after the.. 'accident' if you can call it that.

Thing is, I never had closure about it. Teachers told us one thing, and we heard from other sources another thing. The truth, if there was one, never came out.

I never knew for a fact, what really happened to her. I just heard vague rumours of what happened. I wasn't even there when they told my classmates that she was gone.

However, I remember quite clearly, the day she died. I remembered the P.E lesson we had before recess. I remember us being quite happy that my form teacher took an M.C that day (because she was so weird the day before.) I remember the science talk we had before the news came in. I remember Mr Lim sending me, Norisha and Crystal out of the auditorium to help the guest speaker carry her bags to her car.

I remember Mr Lim looking at me sadly. I remember him holding a box of tissue.

I remember asking him why he had it with him.

*shrugs* Like I said, I never truly got over it.

For eight years, I have never visited her grave. Sure, my classmates did invite me along, but everytime the date of her death anniversary came along, I found that I couldn't go. Not that I didn't want to. Something always seems to happen at the end of April. Soon, my classmates stopped asking.

In my dream last night, she sort of.. came back, after death. I was in secondary school again, and we were walking to the classroom when I stopped in my tracks, pulled Aisah's arm, and told her to look inside our classroom.

And there she was, in her white shirt and brown skirt. Miss Ashidah.

She beckoned us into the classroom. Looked at me.. and then my dream became something else. -_-

(if you wanted to know, it turned into a REAL nightmare of Mr Radish-Head who came to life and tried to kill me. This is an occasional recurring nightmare, so I knew what to do to him. *evil grin*)

For years, this one thing haunted my life. And I think, that is the main reason why I have never gotten over my teacher's death.

Every April of every year, I start getting dreams about her.

Because you see, I was the only one, she said goodbye to.

Teka Teki

The boy asked me this question a few minutes ago. It's supposed to be a teka-teki (riddle) slash intelligent question slash logic question.

As everybody who knows me really well will tell you, I SUCK at logic. Ok? You don't even have to say it. I KNOW.

Give me a stupid riddle or a useless puzzle (*cough* idiot test *cough*) / piece of information, I can answer you.

Give me a straightforward, intelligent question? I suck.

(I think Farhan must have known this, the bacin. Pfft.)

Ok, here goes :

Amir tied two sacks of salt to the back of his donkey and headed for the market to sell the salt. On the way, Amir and the donkey passed a stream. The donkey jumped in to cool himself.

As a result, much of the salt dissolved into the water, ruining the salt for Amir but improving matters for the donkey because his load became much lighter.

Amir tried to get to the market on the following days, but the donkey always ruined the salt.

Finally, Amir decided to teach the donkey a lesson. He once again set out with the donkey and the two sacks.

What did Amir do differently this time so that after that day the donkey stopped taking a swim?

~*~

The answers I gave were :

1) Amir sold his donkey and bought a sampan. Then of course Farhan said that Amir is poor, that's why he's selling salt in the first place, and of course i argued back that if Amir can afford a bloody donkey, he can afford a sampan. Full-stop. And for additional (and by that I mean useless) information, Amir gets his salt from the sea. (not from a salt mine like I originally thought.) Hahahahaa..

But no. Farhan says that's not the answer. Fine fine.

2) So then I told him that Amir sold his donkey and bought a speedboat. *beams*

(of course, a speedboat is a sampan with wings, so that's wrong too.)

3) He gave the donkey salt water. HAHAHAHA.. I'm laughing as I type this out. What the hell kind of answer is that????? The second after I said that, I was thinking, eh, why ah? Because the donkey got ulcer in the mouth is it?

Bah. Stupid answer. Wrong too. :D

4) He sets out with the donkey, sells it for magic beans, climbs the beanstalk and feeds the giant salt. Then he stole the harp and the money. And the giant died because he had too much salt. (The last bit was added because of the impending problem of Amir getting killed by said giant and not being able to enjoy his money.)

But nope. Wrong too. -_- I hate these kind of one track questions. Hmph.

So I asked for a clue. And the boy said, "The donkey STILL went into the river with the sacks."

Er. Ok. And? Hahahaha.. Yes. That was my brain-thinking process for the whole world to see. :D

5) Amir had the sacks water-proofed.

Farhan pointed out that if Amir wanted to make the sacks waterproof, he might as well get the speedboat. -_-

I argued by saying that Amir slaughtered the donkey and made waterproof sacks from donkey guts. *triumphant smile*

But no. That's not the answer either.

And hence i gave up. -_-

Answer : Amir filled the bags with sand. (And hence sand got heavier etc etc etc.) And hence the donkey was taught a lesson and the next day he didn't go into the river to cool himself.

I still think my answers are more creative. Amir should have thought of all those other things. HMPH.

Amir paid the donkey to go to the market for him. As a bonus, Amir bought him a speedboat.

This way, Amir can sell his salt and the donkey can cool himself.

Cool kan?

Disclaimer : The Amir in the above question has no resemblance to the Amir I know (who of course does not own a donkey, nor does he sell salt for a living.) Er. Ok. Yah. That's it.

I DARE you...

Take the Idiot Test 3 WITHOUT using pen and paper. :)

Hahaha.. I didn't. *smug smile*

Idiot Test 3

It's relatively more difficult than Test 1 and 2. (I thought Test 2 was quite easy. Hur hur)

I almost succumbed to the pen and paper in the last level. Haha.. Seriously. This is no joke. I turned myself blue muttering like an idiot.

*mutter mutter mutter* orange 2 *mutter mutter mutter* blue 1

I think kids won't be able to do this. Hahaha.. Got ALGEBRA one! And NO PEN PAPER ok. Cheating lei. Hahaha..

Haha! Check this out!

Um, if you guys like, don't get it... You're supposed to pick up the coin you see (yes, the coin right there, don't worry, it won't bite.) and scratch at the grey area. You know, like the scratch and win thingy? Hahaha..

Ok, and if you STILL didn't get that.. Click on the coin (don't release mouse button) and start um, waving the coin up and down over the grey area.

And if you didn't even get that, *slaps forehead*. You lost the whole gist of it. Haha..

Enjoy! Today's photo victim, Harith!

I am in need. Of a tele-movie.

Ok. My GREATEST weakness is my yearning for my 90s movies/cartoons/video games, etc etc.

:) Farhan kindly found for me my favourite Ice Climber game, and I can't stop playing it. The theme song is WICKED! Bahahaha..

Can't remember which game it is?

Like, omg, now I can play it anytime I want on my laptop! Woo hoo! Waffles!

Cartoons that I have craved are my Captain Planet (solved by youtube), Centurian (again solved by youtube), Gummi Bears, and yadda yadda yadda. (I'll get back to this in another post.)

RIGHT NOW, my worst worst craving is for this :

The Cave Of The Golden Rose.

Ack.

This tele-movie is about 90% responsible for the mad things Hana thinks about/does/talks about today. In it are the princes and princesses (who are of course too good-looking for their own good) and witches and wizards and talking animals (mainly geese) and a lot of other stuff.

It's partly the reason why I've always wanted to be a princess when I grow up. (BAHAHAHAHA.) Ok, I'm serious you guys.

I am Princess Fantaghiro. I like to wear a boy's wig and tease lots of handsome dudes.

I mean, who wouldn't want to be a bloody princess if you can look like that? AND wield a sword?? Hmm? Hmmmm??? She was my HERO lah! She dressed up as a boy to play knights and dragons!! She rocks!

I am Prince Romualdo. I like to hunt.

Ok, I couldn't find a decent picture of her boyfriend in his epic suit, but this will do. Hahaha... I was all of eight when I first drooled over Prince Romualdo. Hahahahaha... Wah. I like, rocked lah when i was a kid. I had a crush on Kim Rossi Stuart! :p

Disclaimer : I doubt he still looks like that now, he's probably really really old.. and decrepit. Hahaha. So yeah, no crush on him now, that's for sure. :p

I am Tarabas. *stares
intently*

And then of course, her scandal!! Wooo hoooo!! Tarabas- Mr Dark Wizard, I-KEEL-YOU! He has a funky sword, a most wonderful goatee and lovely manners. Hahaha.. Maybe that's why I liked Spike so much. He reminded me of Tarabas. Hahaha.. It's kinda weird that I like his long hair. I usually hate it on an actor. *rambles on and on about Tarabas*

Ok, where was I? Oh yeah. The movie. Ok, I badly, badly want to watch this again. "Go to youtube.." you may say. Youtube only has the German version, and OF COURSE no one bothered to put up the English version. *sulks*

I mean to find this at HMV or something. *prays that they have it* I mean, if TV2 has it and shows it once in a blue moon, don't tell me HMV dun have ok. I KEEL YOU. Hahaha..

Ok. Too much Makani is no good for you. *nod nod*

So yes, I contented myself to listening to gibberish German today because I really wanted to watch Princess Fantaghiro beat Prince Romualdo at er.. I can't remember what. Swimming I think. Hahahaha.. Prince Romualdo in a cawat. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Like Tarzan. And yes. I found it disgusting. Lol... Cawat = loincloth. Hahaha. Ok gross. And ok, that's not the reason why I wanted to watch it. *stops explaining and goes on to the next para*

So if anybody knows where I can download it, do tell me. I REALLY need to watch it. Haha..

Ok. I think I had tea much too. :D

Good night!

Must haves..

Hehe.. Photo vomit-ty post for today yah. :D

Harith has this.... passion for durians. SERIOUSLY. *sickened face* He's been like that since he was a kid. He doesn't just eat durians, he DEVOURS them.

Huda looks like she was trying to stop Hakim from eating a chair. *laughs* Taken at Austin Hills Hotel or Apartments.. I can't remember which. The golf course thingy-thingy..

Awww... The three little munchkins. Alia is so cute lah!! (Ni zaman dia naughty sekali.) The three kiddos are trying to climb on top of Suhail, who just... doesn't do anything about it. -_- Tak rase kot?

Hafiz used to have this blank stare when he was a toddler. He usually looked like a deer caught in headlights. Mwarhaha... The perpetually shocked baby.

Yah! Hahahahahahahaha.. Sowwie.. But i had to. Really, I did. :D:D:D Siti Amirah, used to have a fear for camera flashes!!! SERIOUSLY.... When she was a toddler, she used to cry everytime someone took out a camera! I remember my dad always telling her that he'll put the flash (which used to be this big-ass thing attached to the camera) away, so that she wouldn't cry. *laughs*

Last picture of the day, Hakim, who, at this point of time, doesn't look like the Hakim today. (The Hakim today has more sepet eyes. Lol.) I have no idea why he looked so shocked to be held by Abang Usop. Hahaha.. But anyway, there's the signature Donald Duck lips, and the perpetually shocked expression.

Haha. Ok I have to go.. study. :)

An open letter to a friend.

Dear friend.

I kind of feel a little bad that you're not talking to me. You ignored me (or, maybe I ignored you) the whole of today. I just wanted to tell you without words, that the world does not revolve around you.

You keep complaining about menstrual aches, about stress, about feeling panicky, about exams.. News flash, sister. Everybody around you is feeling the way you do right now (um, well, except if they were men. Then they'd leave out the menstrual bit.). And everybody can't possibly be looking out for you, when they're trying to look out for themselves.

You really, REALLY need to grow up. We ALL have problems and we ALL try to deal with them. Why can't you?

It's not like we're made of much sterner stuff, or that we study harder. Puhlease, you see me in class every week and i know for a FACT that you pay more attention to the lecturer than i do.

Enough of the whining and start taking responsibility for yourself. It's not that I don't want to listen to your problems. I do.

I just don't like it that you don't take our advice when we give it to you and bitch about the same old thing a hundred gazillion times and STILL not do anything about it. It. Pisses. Me. Off.

If you don't want to listen to what we have to say, quit asking for our opinions. The fact is, we're tired of repeating ourselves hoarse just for you.

It's past time you grew up. Be independent. We KNOW you feel stressed. Just take a second and look at US for a change. We're stressed too.

Signed,
Me.

~*~

I wish i could say all that to this friend of mine. Right now however, I just want to stick my hands in my pockets and whistle while i walk past her, looking the other way.

It's a wretched feeling, but I kind of lost it when she just didn't show me the same level of respect I've shown her ever since I've known her. *shrugs* Or maybe it's just me. It's that grumpy time of the month.

Sigh.

I'm sorry.

But right now, i'm late. Sigh. I need to get ready like the Flash. Heh.

Oh. My London lecturer for FM is this old man, who i think would look more comfortable in a scene with old sofas and kittie cats in an old London flat. I don't even know his name (cos i came in a little late yesterday morning) so i'll just call him Mr Freebody. :D

I hope i can get through today. Gah. Time to summon all the will power from my secret stash. :(

Dedicated to the last brother.

May he read this one day and wonder why his eldest sister is so evil.

~*~

I tried to help Hakim with his math homework. One particular question with a star stumps Hakim. It goes like this:

Alex made 2 squares with 8 matchsticks.
Each matchstick is 5cm long.
What is the total length of 4 squares of matchsticks?

Since he was stumped, i asked him to draw for me, the 2 squares with 8 matchsticks.

He draws for me, 2 matchboxes. Complete with the flint on the side.

.........

Haha. I know i'm supposed to stay kilometers away from my laptop, but i studied for 6 hours straight today, and i deserve laptop time! Woo hoo!

Woodlands library wasn't crowded at all. Which is good, since the last time i studied there was during JC. And it attracted the irritating kind of crowd. Haha. I think they removed the tables and seats from the third and fourth levels so that irritating people won't go there to chope seats and make endless noise.

Plus, Cafe Galilee is Halal. And $3.50 for a whole lot of potato chunks is okay by me. *beams*

Joining AGLOCO

I recently (okay, a few minutes ago) just joined this online community called AGLOCO.

From a really small small member's perspective, i'm just going to try it out lah horh. See whether i make money or not.

The whole point of the community is to tell you that, you can get paid for just surfing. AGLOCO issues a Viewbar (which you download and it appears on your desktop), and will track down 5 hours of your surfing per month, and pay you accordingly. Currently the Viewbar is in testing, and it won't be ready for a few more weeks. The Viewbar is NOT spyware, as commented frequently by the website.

(the viewbar's just above the taskbar.)

Of course, there's a limited payout value, i.e you have to have a significant value inside your account before they allow you to withdraw your money.

I'll just cut and past the representative's explaination about AGLOCO here lah horh.

~*~

What Is AGLOCO?

You might already know that almost everything you do on the Internet makes money for someone else. And that’s not just when you spend money. Just about every time you view an ad, click an ad, search, buy something, download something, join a community, or post a story, picture, or video, some person or some company is making a fee, commission, and/or sale from your activity.

If you want to join as a Member, you download a piece of software called the Viewbar. It’s like a toolbar that sits at the bottom of your desktop, and it will be available soon. Essentially, it collects on your behalf some of the revenue you would usually generate for other people while you conduct your everyday browsing. Then, it returns most of this money to you.

Why does this work? You win because you now get your share of the money for doing what you would normally do. AGLOCO management wins by keeping a 10% cut of this revenue (like Brad Pitt pays his agent a 10% fee). And the companies win, since they get your business. All you need to do is have the Viewbar up on your screen while browsing the Internet like normal.”

The most valuable part of AGLOCO is its Members. By referring others to AGLOCO, you provide them with value and for that, AGLOCO thinks you should get some of that value you provide.

It makes sense. Think about YouTube. The first, most active users were on the site when the software was buggy and there were few videos available, but their Membership (and referrals to others) is what made the site a success. When it was sold for $1.65 billion, how much of that did these first users see? Nothing. With the AGLOCO referral system, Members get more for building the network.”

AGLOCO takes privacy very seriously and keeps all of your personal information strictly confidential and secure. Some other popular Internet companies take your personal information, use it, profit off it, sell it to others, and then give you nothing. AGLOCO will not share ANY of your Membership information with any unauthorized third party, and YOU share in the profits made from more personalized advertisements.

AGLOCO’s privacy policy stipulates exactly what information might be collected. It is 100% transparent and spyware-free. Moreover, while you are paid for the time the Viewbar is up, you can turn it off at any time. To ensure that your privacy is kept paramount, AGLOCO has hired a Chief Privacy Officer, Ray Everett-Church. Ray was the Internet’s first Chief Privacy Officer, and co-author of ‘Internet Privacy for Dummies’. You can trust that our privacy is safe with AGLOCO.

There are a whole bunch of ways AGLOCO makes money on behalf of Members. Here are just a few quick examples.

First of all, the Viewbar has a search function you can use to search yahoo, google, etc. Every time you use this search bar, the AGLOCO community makes money.

Second, the Viewbar has space for a text-only ad (no loud, flashing banners – just unobtrusive text). These ads make money for the AGLOCO community.

Third, AGLOCO has affiliate programs with a number of online retailers. Buy from one of these sites and AGLOCO makes money.

So yeah, since i don't have the Viewbar yet, I'm just going to ask YOU GUYS.... (or whoever reads my blog) to come join lah. It's FREE (doesn't everyone like free stuff??) and all you have to do right now, is click from my referral, and then make your own referrals and start referring other people too. The more you refer, the more hours you get. :D The more hours you get, the more money you accumulate.

Haha.. I know i sound like a salesman blah blah blah... but hey, if Mr Bill Gates thinks AGLOCO is the next Youtube revolution, i say go for it!

There is not risk, i repeat, no risk. But if you want to make the money, you need to put in effort. (and that is the most doink statement i've ever made.) So, well, try it out. :D

Haha. And if some of you pandai-pandai make your own account without my referral, that's okay. :) Dengki sey... But that's ok. Hahahaa.. :P

Ok good luck! Let's make money using the Evilllll Internet!
